Could ‘Space Jam 2’ be on the horizon? NBA star Lebron James has signed a major deal with Warner Brothers Entertainment which is said to be unprecedented this week that includes film, television and other digital media developments. James was last seen in Amy Schumer’s ‘Trainwreck’ where his standout performance caught the eyes of WB executives.
Warner Brothers chairman, Kevin Tsujihara said this about the deal:
“LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his partner, Maverick Carter, and SpringHill Entertainment. The combination of LeBron’s global media presence and Warner Bros.’ unmatched production and distribution expertise is a big win for fans everywhere.”
James is currently receiving major accolades for his role in ‘Trainwreck’ with USA today saying he knocked it out of the park and NPR even going as far to call his appearance “not a cameo” but a legitimate supporting role. This had led many to believe that the WB could be reviving the long gestating ‘Space Jam’ sequel which has been rumored to be in development over the last decade. We sure know that the timing is right for the Tiny Toons to make a comeback and if there is any sportsman to pull it off, it would be Lebron.
