If you loved “The Lorax” and Jim Carrey’s “Grinch” on the big screen, then you’ll love the latest animated series coming to Netflix.
Ellen DeGeneres is executive producing an animated “Green Eggs and Ham” TV show for the video streaming service, based on the Dr. Seuss book first published in 1960.Variety reports a 13-episode series has been ordered, but it’s unclear what the plot will be. “Lego Movie 2” co-writer Jared Stern has been hired to pen the script.
The original children’s story featured a character named Sam-I-Am trying to convince his friend to try an unusual new meal. He says he would not like them in a house or with a mouse, not here or anywhere, but when he finally tastes it he discovers he likes it.
“It’s going to be cutting-edge animation. It’s never been done on television before. It’s very, very cool,” DeGeneres said Wednesday, according to EW. “I’m excited about it.”
