Billboard released its annual list of the highest-paid musicians this week, which ranks how much artists made in 2015, with touring being the primary factor while album sales continue their downward trend.
According to the figures, Taylor Swift was the highest-earning musician in the world last year earning a total of $73.5 million, which is nearly twice as much as the list’s second highest paid artist, US country star Kenny Chesney, who made $39.8 million in 2015.
Most of Swift’s earning came from the massive world tour she undertook in support of her 1989 album, with the tour alone pulling in $61.7 million. She also earned $7.2 million from album sales, $4.1 million from publishing rights, and $564,000 from streaming.
The Bad Blood singer’s 2015 fortune also significantly eclipses her genre counterparts, with Swift earning more than One Direction, Adele, Madonna and Britney Spears combined.
