AMC really doesn’t have to worry about creating many more original programs thanks to their hit show “The Walking Dead” and the successful spin-off “Fear the Walking Dead.” ‘Fear’ premiered in August for a six episode first season and was immediately renewed for a second of fifteen episodes shortly after. While the show didn’t grab as many fans as the original series, it did have an average of 6 million viewers per episode and still the highest rated show on cable for its time slot.
The plan is to air the first half of the season beginning April 10th, much like “The Walking Dead” splits up its seasons. The remaining 8 episodes would then air in the fall leading up to the 7th season premiere the original fan favorite.
When we last saw the cast of ‘Fear’ they were planning to head out onto the open sea which will mark the first time the show has left land. It will be interesting to see how long they can build the suspense with the boat as the main location. However, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
