Sony World Photography Awards’ shortlist showcases pictures of the wonderful and sometimes very weird
The world's biggest photography competition, the Sony World Photography Awards, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, more than 227,000 photographs have been submitted from 183 countries around the world, falling into one of three categories: Professional, Open and Youth.
Earlier this week, Sony revealed the shortlisted photographers that were drawn from the record-breaking number of entries. Overall winners will be revealed April 20, where after they will be shown at an exhibition in London from April 21 to May 7.
Suffice to say, those that have made Sony's coveted shortlist are breathtaking and thought-provoking. The following stunning shortlisted entries are taken from the Professional and Open competitions — both of which entail 10 categories.
